1st Gordon Bennett International Balloon Race

Participating competitors included Frank P. Lahm , Alberto Santos-Dumont, FH Butler, Alfred Vonwiller, and Charles Stewart Rolls.[1] The race began at the Jardin de Tuileries in Paris at 4PM. Lahm and copilot Henry B. Hersey won the race, going 402 miles in 22:15 and landing in Yorkshire.[2]
